Davis and Richmond Elementary Schools Future Education Plan Update
The District 303 Board of Education approved the Future Education Plan for Davis and Richmond Schools at the Special Meeting of the Board of Education on Thursday, March 17 by a 5-2 vote. Beginning with the 2011-12 School Year, students in the Davis and Richmond attendance areas in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade will attend Davis School, students in the Davis and Richmond attendance areas in grades 3rd through 5th will attend Richmond School. Students attending Richmond School will have a 40 minute longer school day, a Foreign Language program and will use 1:1 computing devices.
The Board of Education also approved a proposal to allow other D303 students to opt in to Davis K-2, Richmond 3-5 school if space is available by a 7-0 vote.
The Board of Education rejected a proposal to allow students in the Davis and Richmond attendance areas to opt out of Richmond 3-5 school by a 2-5 vote.
